As a passionate nature lover since childhood Kirsti has spent a lot of time outside in the beautiful nature in Norway; hiking, mountain climbing and for a short time also diving. She visited Svalbard for the first time in 1995, and fell in love with the amazing nature up there. As a photographer she is more of a newcomer, but she has the best playground in the world for her practice....
Kirsti holds a Master´s degree from the University in Ås (NMBU) where she did a shared master in engineering and wildlife management, she holds the title civil engineer but her focus changed and the last years she had more and more other subjects added to her schedule, such as wildlife management (masters level), animal behaviour/ethology, biology, and animal anatomy and physiology. She has always had a deep interest for animals, and animal behaviour in particular. This is something she brings in to WildPhoto through her knowledge of behaviour and signals, and she will always try to make WildPhoto the best company possible when it comes to disturbance of wildlife.
Kirsti is, together with her husband Ole, the founder and owner of WildPhoto Travel. She has been working part-time in WildPhoto Travel since the very beginning, and for the last years, she has been a full-time employee and also the CEO.
Kirsti will usually be your first point of contact in the company, as she is in charge of the booking and communication with the guests and partners.
